Bradley J. Cordts was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota in 1964. He is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, Memphis Bar Association, the Florida Bar Association and the South Dakota Bar Association as well as the American Association for Justice (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America).

Mr. Cordts was commissioned as an Ensign in 1988 and then served as an active duty member of the United States Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps from 1989 to 1993 and has continued to serve in Naval Reserves since 1993 where he was selected for the rank of Navy Captain in 2008. In 2002, as a Lieutenant Commander, Mr. Cordts received the Rear Admiral Hugh H. Howell, Jr. Award of Excellence, which is awarded annually to the outstanding junior officer in the Navy JAG Reserves. From 2007-2008, Captain (select) Cordts was recalled to Active Duty where he served at Yokosuka, Japan, for 8 months where he was awarded a Meritorious Service Medal for his work there.

Mr. Cordts worked as an associate with the private law firm of Adair, Schuerman & White from 1993 to 1997. He established The Cordts Law Firm in 1997, where he practiced until December 2001. In January 2002, Mr. Cordts co-founded Cordts & Gulley, PLLC, with James M. Gulley. In April, 2010 the firm of Cordts and Gulley, PLLC became Cordts Law Firm, PLLC.

Mr. Cordts practices in various areas of the law, including Divorce and Child Custody, Business Law, Business Formation, Personal Injury Litigation, Estate Planning, Military Law, Bankruptcy, Criminal Law, Trade mark and Copyright Law, Civil Law, Employment Issues, and General Practice.

The Tennessee Supreme Court Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission has approved Bradley J. Cordts to be a Rule 31 Listed Mediator in the field of Family Mediation under Rule 31 of the Tennessee Supreme Court.
